BA (1986) and Ph.D. in History (1991), University of Seville. Full professor at the School of Philosophy and Letters, University of Cádiz. Author of numerous publications on the history of America and director of various national and international research projects in this field. Member of the Andalusian Academy of History and the Cádiz Royal Hispano-American Academy of Arts, Sciences, and Letters. Former director of the Association of Latin American and Caribbean Historians (ADHILAC).
