Alejandro Licona
(Mexico City, 1953) Chemical Engineering at the Instituto Politécnico Nacional and theater at the Taller de Creación Dramática, directed by Emilio Carballido. Author of more than one hundred plays. His most represented texts are Abuelita de Batman, La que hubiera amado tanto, Cómo pasar matemáticas sin problemas and Raptola, violola y matola. His works have been staged in Latin America, United States and Spain. He has won awards in Mexico and abroad, such as the Premio Internacional de Teatro Ricardo López Aranda, in Spain in 2001, for his work La Santa perdida. He has published seven novels, five for children and young people and two for adult audiences. He was a teacher for nineteen years in the Sociedad General de Escritores de México; he currently teaches at the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica.
