One of the greatest literary critics in Brazil and member of the Brazilian Academy of Letters (ABL). He has a Degree in Neo-Latin Languages, a specialization in Romance Philosophy and a PhD in Italian Literature from University of São Paulo (USP). He is also a specialist in Italian Literature from University of Florence (Unifi), Italy. Retired professor of Brazilian Literature and emeritus professor at USP, where he was director and deputy director of the Institute of Advanced Studies (IEA), which publishes the magazine Estudos Avançados (Advanced Studies), which Bosi is still editor.
