Amparo Iris Zavaleta

Doctor in Medicine (Biotechnology Program) from the Universidad de Alicante, Master in Sciences with a mention in Biochemistry from the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia and Bachelor in Pharmacy and Biochemistry from the Universidad Nacional de Trujillo. As a research professor, she has traveled to various universities in Chile, Mexico, the United States, Japan, Spain and Portugal. She currently develops as main professor at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. She has been awarded with a scientific research award by the Fundación Hipólito Unanue and with the Lukoll Award by the Sociedad Peruana de Neumología. She has also been recognized with the Scientific merit in 2002, 2006 and 2011 by the UNMSM. Her research focuses on the exploitation of environmental microbial biodiversity to obtain products, processes and services for the food and pharmaceutical industries, among others.
