Arturo Andrés Roig

Arturo Andrés Roig held a degree in Philosophy and was professor of History of Ancient Philosophy at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters, National University of Cuyo and Latin American Social Thought at the Universidad Central del Ecuador. He was an honorary Professor at the National University of Comahue. He did advanced course work at the Sorbonne. He held honorary doctorates from the universities of Río Cuarto and Autónoma de Managua. He authored works on the history of philosophy. He was a pioneer in the reconstruction of the history of philosophy in Argentina and Latin American thought. He was researcher for Conicet and the Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales (FLACSO ). He was the founder of the Institute of Human, Social and Environmental Sciences (Incihusa) and director of the CCT-Mendoza. He was active in academic administration at the UNCuyo. He was the founding member of the Asociación Filosófica Argentina and director of the journal Estudios de Filosofía Práctica e Historia de las Ideas. He received numerous distinctions in Argentina and other countries.
