Retired professor from the UFRGS Physics Institute (Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul State). He has authored hypertexts which were granted awards by the CAPES Distance Education Research Support Program in 2003 and by the Distance Education Brazilian Association in 2004. Author of the novel “O plágio de Einstein” (WS publisher) which made him the Best New Author in the Book Fair of Porto Alegre in 2003, and gave him the first prize in the International Literary Prize Marengo D’Oro (Genoa) in 2004, in the foreign author category. Organizer of the book “Energia e Matéria: da Fundamentação Conceitual às Aplicações Tecnológicas” (Energy and Matter: from Conceptual Fundaments to Technological applications) (Livraria da Física publisher), which gave him the Jabuti Prize in 2016 (3rd in the Nature Sciences, Environment and Mathematics category).
