PhD in Social Sciences from FLACSO, Ecuador; Master’s degree in International Sciences (UCE) and Cultural Management from the UREL-UTE Network. Analyst and publisher for national and international media on issues of business, foreign policy and communication. He writes in newspapers as: El Universo, La Hora and El Telégrafo, as well as in his website (blog) enlosbordesdelapolitica.wordpress.com. He has published articles in magazines in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela. His latest book, Populism on Stage: Why does it emerge in some countries and not in others? (FLACSO, 2017) was awarded by the National Union of Journalists in 2016 and has been reviewed in several Latin American countries. Currently, in addition to being invited by several universities in Ecuador as a graduate professor, he is a research professor at the Faculty of Communication and Visual Arts of the Universidad de Las Américas (UDLA-Ecuador).
