PhD, professor and full-time researcher from Universidad de Las Américas in Quito, Ecuador. PhD in Medicine at Universidad Central de Ecuador, after which he completed his graduate degree in High Mountain Medicine and Physiology, in Canada. PhD candidate in Physiology and Immunology from the University of Barcelona. In 2012, he was a scientific advisor in the Secretariat of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (SENESCYT) and manager of Research and Development of the only public drug company in Ecuador, Enfarma EP. He has been part of national and international courses, conferences, presentations and consultancies where his experience as a regional pharmaceutical consultant of the South Korean Government . His current activities involve education and research that allowed him to generate several projects and publications in areas of public health and access to medicine. Some of his works have had an international impact. In 2015, he became professor at the Suny Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, United States.
