Eugenia Guzmán Cervantes

Degree in Bacteriology and Microbiology, and later Psychology at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, pairing her interest in biology with the study of mental functions in humans. She is a Neuropsychologist, with Master’s degree from the University of Iowa. She was the first to practice this sub-specialization in Colombia at the Instituto Neurológico. Later, she joined the Universidad Nacional, where she was as a Professor of Neuropsychology and Biological Psychology until her retirement as a full professor. She has published several articles and five books on neuropsychology. In 1983, she received the second prize of the Academy of Medicine sponsored by Planeta Publishing House for her book entitled Neuropsicología, which was the first one on this subject originally written in Spanish.
