Fidel Alejandro Roig Juñent holds a degree in agricultural engineer and is Doctor in Philosophy and Natural Sciences from the University of Basel, Switzerland. Professor and Researcher at the National University of Cuyo. Visiting Professor at universities in Brazil, Chile, Italy, and Germany. Principal Researcher of CONICET, an institution where he has held management positions at IANIGLA and at Centro Científico Tecnológico de Mendoza. He has been a member of the boards of the postgraduate studies in Biology (PROBIOL) and Agronomy, both of them at National University of Cuyo. Coordinator of IUFRO and member of scientific societies in Argentina and abroad. Author of more than 130 publications and scientific books on forest ecology, ecological anatomy, palaeoenvironmental and climatic reconstructions. Organizer of scientific meetings and associate editor of scientific journals of the specialty.
