Surgeon (Universidad del Zulia, 11-19-1971). Hematologist, Doctor of Medical Sciences, full-time emeritus professor. Professor of Medical Pathology, Hematology area. Fellow of the Veterans Administration Hospital, University of Miami, area of Platelet Immunology. Professor of the Hematology graduate program at Universidad del Zulia. Professor of Research Methodology at Zulia State Academy of Medicine and at the Venezuelan Society of Hematology. Researcher affiliated with the Institute of Clinical Research “Dr. Américo Negrette”, Faculty of Medicine, Universidad del Zulia. Former director of the Institute of Clinical Research (1986-1992). Former president of the Faculty Association of Universidad del Zulia, medicine section. Secretary coordinator of the Council for Scientific, Humanistic and Technological Development of Universidad del Zulia (CONDES-LUZ) (2008-). Full member (31) of the Academy of Medicine of Zulia State. He has presented more than one hundred lectures and communications at conferences and has published more than fifty works including papers published in peer-reviewed and indexed journals, books and book chapters on nutritional anemia, hemostasis and thrombosis. Member of both the Latin American Cooperative Group of Haemostasis and Thrombosis (CLAHT) and the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH). He has been awarded the following special distinctions: CONABA (National Commission for Academic Benefits) Level 1, PPI (Program for the Promotion of Researchers) Level II Order Dr. Jesús Enrique Lossada (LUZ) (first and second class), Order of Merit (only class) Dr. Francisco Ochoa (LUZ).
