Research professor in the Department of Educational Research at CINVESTAV, Mexico. She has a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Between 2001 and 2008 she was the director of the Education Area at FLACSO/ Argentina, and she has been a visiting professor at the universities of Melbourne, Paris 8 and Humboldt in Berlin. In 2018, she received the Humboldt Research Award (Germany). She studies the connections between school and digital visual culture from a historical and pedagogical perspective.
