Javier Luzuriaga

Javier Luzuriaga (Buenos Aires, 1950) is PhD in Physics from Balseiro Institute (National University of Cuyo). He worked in experimental physics at the Low Temperature Laboratory (Bariloche Atomic Center, National Atomic Energy Commission), with emphasis on superconductivity and superfluidity phenomena. He has published around 50 scientific papers, in addition to the book The Physics of Musical Instruments (Eudeba, 2010), with Raúl O. Pérez. He was teacher at Balseiro Institute. Retired since 2017, he is still linked to the Institute as a free teacher. He spent two years as a postdoctoral fellow at the Imperial College of Science and Technology in London, between 1979 and 1981, holding a scholarship from the British Council. He was visiting professor at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Switzerland, in 1991, and Fulbright fellow at Brown University, USA, in 1998. In addition to teaching at the Balseiro Institute, he was director of doctoral and bachelor theses at the same institution.
