Jorge Alberto López Arévalo: Economist from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, Master’s degree in economics from the Universidad de La Habana and PhD in Applied Economics from the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, Spain. He is currently working as a full-time professor at the School of Social Sciences, Universidad Autónoma de Chiapas. He has published scientific articles in magazines and books in Germany, Argentina, Spain, Venezuela, Japan, the United States, Russia, India, Colombia and Chile. Winner of the professorship in economics "Tomás de Mercado" at the Universidad de Salamanca in 2009. He has given magisterial lectures in Canada, Japan, Spain, Guatemala and Mexico. He has several publications in journals of the Journal Citation Report (JCR): from Chile (Cepal Review), United States (Latin American Perspectives), Spain (World Economic Magazine), Mexico (Population Papers and Economic Research) and in others from Scopus.
