Jorge Ramírez Rojas

Graduated as agronomic engineer from the University of Costa Rica, holds 37 years of professional experience as a coffee crops specialist. Principal researcher in the development of more than 50 projects in different areas of agronomic knowledge of the crop, he has published numerous articles in specialized journals of agronomy and coffee. He has authored six books on topics related to coffee plantations and has been a lecturer in international forums and, instructor in coffee courses in several countries. Participant of international events on science, agronomy and coffee, he has been part of numerous technical missions abroad to assess new technologies, advances and research results in experimental centers and coffee companies. He also served as head of Instituto Costarricense del Café, ICAFE’s research program and was director of the Coffee Research Center (CICAFE) and technical manager of ICAFE. He is currently an expert consultant in coffee, providing technical advice to producers, coffee companies and the development of new research. He also carries out training activities where he conducts courses on management and production of coffee.
