Leonor Y. Vargas Méndez

She was born in Bucaramanga, Colombia. She earned her B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the Universidad Industrial de Santander in 1998 and 2001, respectively and received his Laurea Ph.D. degree at the same institution in 2009 under the supervision of Prof. Vladimir V. Kouznetsov. For eleven years (2009-2020), she developed her teaching and research activities as Professor and Director of the Environmental Research Group for Sustainable Development at the Universidad Santo Tomás-Seccional Bucaramanga. In 2013, she received the “Hernán Alcaráz Viecco” National Entomology Prize. In 2017, she received the “San Alberto Magno” Award in recognition of research and innovation. His scientific interests are focused on the design and study of new synthetic and natural molecules such as pesticides for the agrochemical industry.
