Luis Javier Plata Rosas

Doctor in Coastal Oceanography and professor at the Universidad de Guadalajara. Winner of the Jalisco State Prize for Science, Technology and Innovation (2013-2014) and finalist (second place, 2015-2016). He obtained a special mention in the First International Contest of Scientific Dissemination Science that Barks, La Nación (Argentina, 2013) for El teorema del Patito Feo. speaker in the “Sundays in Science” program of the Mexican Academy of Sciences. He has published more than eight hundred essays, articles, chronicles, short stories and novels in which science is the central theme. He is a collaborator for Nexos magazine y ¿Cómo ves?” as well as the newspaper El Universal. He is the author of more than fifteen books, including La ciencia y los monstruos (Siglo XXI, 2017), La física del Coyote y el Correcaminos (Planeta, 2016) and El océano tiene onda (Ediciones B, 2017).
