Luis Vargas Saavedra

Visual artist and professor of Literature. PhD in Romance Philology at the Universidad Central de Madrid. He has been a professor at Wayne Sate University, Detroit, Michigan; New College, Oakland University, Michigan; University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia and full professor of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Specialist in Gabriela Mistral work, he has compiled and published epistolary, prose and anthologies of unpublished poems of the poet such as: El otro suicida (Ediciones UC, 1985); Recados para hoy y mañana (Sudamericana, 1999); Castilla, tajeada de sed como mi lengua (Ediciones UC, 2002); and Caminando se siembra (Lumen, 2013).
