Maria Apparecida Franco
PhD in Social History (1992) and Master’s degree in Economic History (1981) from University of São Paulo. Specialist in History of Brazil (1976) from the College of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters of Santos. Graduate in Pedagogy (1961) and History (1972) from College of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters of Santos and in Philosophy from the University Center N. Sra. De Assunção – UNIFAI (1976). She is currently a teacher/researcher in the Master’s Program in Education and runs the LIAME Research Group (Laboratory of Information and Memory of the School). She worked in the São Paulo State Network of Education (Primary School and High School) for 29 years. She has experience in research on the Portuguese immigration in Brazil, school (History of Institutions), women’s history and rural education, and history of Santos. She is a member of the Historical and Geographical Institute of Santos, where she is Chief Heritage Officer.
