Doctor in Psychology, university professor and writer. She has more than fifty publications among books, articles and essays. The following are topics that highlights in her writings and research like sexism in education, discrimination, psycho-social theories and political psychology. She was the first director of the post-graduate program in Women’s Studies jointly taught by the Universidad of Costa Rica (UCR) and the Universidad Nacional (EUNA). She served as deputy director of the Center for Research in Women’s Studies at the Universidad de Costa rica (CIEM-UCR). Her literary work was awarded with the Costa Rican National Culture Prize in 2013.
