Oscar Camacho

Oscar Camacho received a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Universidad de Los Andes (ULA), Mérida, Venezuela, in 1984. He received the MSc. in Control Engineering (ULA), 1992. In 1994, he obtained an ME in Chemical Engineering and, in 1996, a Ph. D. in Engineering Sciences at the University of South Florida (USF), Tampa, Florida (USA). Development post-doctorate activities at USF in 2001. He has worked in teaching and research at the ULA and PDVSA (Venezuela), USF (USA), and is currently a professor at the Escuela Politécnica National (EPN) in Quito, Ecuador. He is an Associate editor in ISA Transactions. He has directed more than 40 bachelor’s, masters, and doctoral theses. His current research lines include sliding mode control, elevated delay process control, and chemical process control. He is author of more than 150 publications in journals and conference proceedings.
