Researcher and essayist. His work has been recognized with regional and international awards, including the Tenerife Prize (Spain), honorable mention in the Andrés Bello Ibero-American Essay Award (SECAB), and the Alejandrina Poetry Prize (UAQ), Querétaro, Mexico. Some of his main books are: Tàpies en busca de lo eidético, Mito y arte indígena en los Andes, Estética y otredad en el Caribe, Hacia una semiótica del textil artesanal, Cerámica en el Amazonas, and others. Between his last works they stand out: Vida y sueños del maestro Simón Rodríguez, una historia contada a los niños de América (2013) y Universidad social, ensayo sobre la universidad latinoamericana (2015). He works as a teacher of the Arts Program in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Nariño.
