Rodrigo Zeledón Araya: Degree in Microbiology and Clinical Chemistry from the University of Costa Rica, a postgraduate diploma in Parasitology, Entomology and Medical Microbiology from the Oswaldo Cruz Institute (Brazil), and a PhD in science from the School of Public Health at the Johns Hopkins University. Professor at the University of Costa Rica and the National University. Joaquín García Monge national award. He has described four species of parasites and six new ones has been dedicated to him. Author of 10 books, 15 chapters of books and more than 200 scientific articles.
