Virgilio Germán Roig

Virgilio Germán Roig holds a degree in agricultural engineering from the National University of Cuyo, and a Master of Science degree from the University of California. He has honorary doctorates from the Autonomous University of Lima, Peru, and the Iberoamerican Council of Universities. He is an emeritus researcher for the Conicet. He is a member of numerous scientific societies in Argentina, United States and Europe. He has authored more than 150 research publications in specialized journals on ecology, fauna, flora and a number of book chapters. He is the founder and director of the Iadiza-Conicet. He is the founder and director of CRICYT-Mendoza, currently called CCT-Mendoza-Conicet. He has received a number of awards and tributes for his scientific work.
