Bachelor’s Degree in Organic Chemistry from the Universidad de Oviedo. At the end of his degree, he joined the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas where he completed his doctoral thesis. Subsequently, he spent two years at the INSA in Lyon, an institute belonging to the CNRS. He was Director of the Materials Area of the ITMA Foundation for 4 years. Currently, he is a senior scientist and director of the Centro de Investigación en Nanomateriales y Nanotecnología. He has been Principal Investigator in 7 research projects and has been part of the research team in more than 30 R&D projects. He is the author of 95 scientific publications in ISI journals (h=18) and two book chapters. He has supervised 6 doctoral theses and is the author of 11 patents, three of them licensed and one in exploitation.
