José León-Sánchez

A widely recognized writer and recipient of awards for his extensive literary work, José León Sánchez studied law at the University of Buenos Aires. He has been awarded the Recognition of the Human Rights Commission of Mexico, for his humanist work, his struggle for dignity and human rights. He won the National Culture Award of Costa Rica, 2017, and the National Literature Award Aquileo J. Echeverría, 1967. In 1969 The Hill of the Oxen got honor mention of the Costa Rican-Central American floral games. His works Cattleya Negra, Tenochtitlán, Campanas para llamar al viento, La isla de los hombres solos, show the mastery of his writings. This edition of the EUNA recovers for the 21st.
