María-Luise Kreuter

Kreuter was already involved with natural gardening in her youth. After training as a journalist, she worked as a freelance editor for magazines and radio stations, including Südwestfunk in Mainz and Westdeutscher Rundfunk in Cologne. Over time, organic gardening became her professional focus, and she was one of the first authors to devote herself to this topic. His first work, The Biological Garden, was published by Heyne Verlag in 1977. Over the next 28 years, it sold more than 1.5 million copies and was translated into several languages. The 27th edition was published in February 2016. Since 1985, Kreuter has worked as a consultant for kraut&rüben, a monthly gardening magazine for organic gardeners and wildlife. In 1990 she became its editor. Additionally, she published a host of other gardening books during her writing career. In 2007, a newly bred hiking rose from the Ruf rose school in Bad Nauheim was named after him.
