Forestry Engineer by the Technological Institute of Costa Rica (ITCR), holds a Master’s degree by the State University of North Carolina and a Ph.D. in Genetics and Genetic Improvement by the University of Göttingen, Germany. Professor and Researcher at the ITCR. Director of the School of Forestry Engineering. A member of the National Commission on Forest Policy, he has published 75 articles in journals and is the author of 20 books, book chapters and technical manuals. Developer of more than seven specialized software applications. Visiting professor in several countries. International consultant in forestry genetic improvement.
