Pedro Silva Barros

PhD in Latin American Integration from the University of São Paulo (Brazil), with a master’s degree in Economics from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (Brazil). He is a researcher at the Institute of Applied Economic Research (ipea), of the Brazilian Ministry of Economy. He works as editor of Tempo do Mundo magazine and as coordinator of the project “Regional integration: Brazil and South America”, both of IPEA. He was head of the IPEA mission in Venezuela (2010-2014), as well as director of economic affairs of the Union of South American Nations (2015-2018), responsible for the Secretariat of the Ministerial Councils of Infrastructure and Planning, Energy, Economy and Finance and Science, Technology and Innovation. He is currently doing postdoctoral studies in the Department of Economics and in the Graduate Program for Latin American Integration, both at the University of São Paulo (Brazil).
