Biologist from University of Amsterdam, PhD in Páramo Ecology. Researcher and teacher, former project director (CONDESAN), regional director for South America (IUCN) and climate change director (IDRC, Canada). Founder of Ecopar and adjunct professor at USFQ. International consultant on conservation, sustainable development and climate change. He is dedicated to several tropical ecosystems, but the páramo is his specialty and passion. He has developed and led programs on páramo in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela. He has facilitated international working groups, advised governments, published books and articles, and presented at ecosystem events.
