Rosaleen Howard

Professor emeritus of Hispanic Studies at Newcastle University (United Kingdom). She has been an associate professor at the University of Liverpool. Her fields of work are sociolinguistics and linguistic anthropology in the Andean region, as well as the Quechua language. Her books include Por los linderos de la lengua. Ideologías lingüísticas en los Andes (Along the Boundaries of Language: Linguistic Ideologies in the Andes) (Lima, Instituto de Estudios Peruanos/Instituto Francés de Estudios Andinos/Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, 2007) and Kawsay Vida. A Multimedia Quechua Course for Beginners and Beyond (University of Texas Press, 2013). Furthermore, she is the author of many papers published in specialized journals. She has taught Quechua at the University of Liverpool and Newcastle University for several years.
