The prologue draws a sinuous trajectory that goes through the chronological milestones of Alfonsina’s poems to show her searches, advances and the setbacks of her renovating attempts and, at the same time, the persistence in the design of the poet’s autofigurations: perhaps this aspect is the most densely worked in its reading, revealing the images where death announcements are shown. These characteristics do not prevent the prologue from informing the reader about the necessary reading contexts; who disdained Alfonsina’s poetry -the young people of the avant-garde because they privileged other aesthetics- also who valued it. In this study about the author I provide the reader a useful anthology to globally capture the figure and poetry of Alfonsina.
