Since tGuido D’Arezzo era until our days, music composition with algorithms reaffirms the need for transversal thinking in this area, revealing the close relationship with other artistic disciplines, science and technology. From this point of view, Algorithmic Composition explores difficulties related to historic evolution, analysis and application of algorithmic processes in music composition. The book is organised in a series of independent sections that deal with controversial questions and informal interviews with current composers (David Cope, Roger Dannenberg and Rodrigo Sigal, among others). Far from studying the methods of composition that can be formalised through the analysis of certain works, the book suggests an approach focused on the paradigms that represent systems of composition.
