The philosopher and academic from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Mauricio Correa, with the renowned academic Adela Cortina published a book on different applications of ethics, a topic that has become critical in the midst of the chilean social outbreak and subsequent pandemic of the coronavirus.
“Applied Ethics from medicine to humor”, is a text made up of reflections by different authors and that covers the connection of this concept with different areas. For its editor, this book “was not only necessary, but also urgent”.
“Today, society demands more ethically correct behaviors in the different areas of human activity that, as the title of the book says, range from medicine to humor. People perceive that we live in a certain moral distress where they are losing the meaning of internal goals and the sense of justice in almost all areas of our social life, politics, economics, medicine, urban planning, among others. That is the contribution of this book, whose purpose is to help raise the moral spirit with the goal of building a society closer to justice, which is the purpose of applied ethics “.
