The objective of this guide with more than 200 exercises of composition, is to offer a look of some compositional procedures—some traditional and others new—applied to the most characteristic Argentine popular genres. In this first installment is selected within the wide range of Argentine folkloric genres, the chacarera, the zamba and the vidala. To approach this book the reader must have knowledge of musical literacy but enough to understand an acordic structure or a piano pattern of medium complexity. It is not necessary to be an experienced reader at first sight. It can also be carried out by a student with or without a guide teacher as well as by an experienced musician. This guide was created to enrich the techniques with which we usually work in our tasks as composers and/or arrangers.
