Bioethics for beginners from a rights-based approach
Bioética para principiantes en clave de derechos
The work proposes to introduce students and health professionals who are beginning in the profession to Bioethics -a discipline that addresses interdisciplinarily ethical problems in the field of health. It provides the foundations of this knowledge and its main tasks, without pretending to exhaust the broad themes that constitute and convene it.
The book is organized in two main parts: a general part in which topics that make the foundation of Bioethics are addressed, such as notions of ethics, ethical theories, the emergence of Bioethics and its context and the most important principles. Then a specific part where different topics addressed by bioethical reflection are developed: rights at the end of life, organ transplants, reproductive rights, abortion as a public health problem, assisted reproduction and the gender perspective.
With a critical eye, the authors refer to legal advances on bioethical issues in Argentina, which does not imply recognizing that all positive laws are ethical, but that many times what is legitimized by ethics does not manage to be part of any positive law.
