Universities are being treated as if they were factories. And they are not. Therefore, we must resist the logic of quantity and propose one of quality. As this book shows, with clear university inspiration, the consensus in the humanities are shaped by discussion and intellectual dissent. The authors intention in this volume is to invite a discussion since questioning ideas and argumentation is the only way to develop an adequate approach to the symbolic implications of literature. To illuminate writings that affect in our citizen environments, is one of the most necessary tasks in these times in which technocratic ideology often tries to impose itself on humanistic projects. In this book, Latin American literature receives new and different views, but intertwined not only by having the same institutional impulse, but above all because it is the result of a common listening and an intense moment of sharing classrooms, teachers and readings.
