Circus education. History of the circus, training schools and social projects has theoretical contributions, critical conjectures and also makes a systematization of investigative studies that invite the community of circus artists; teachers of basic and special education; coaches of artistic disciplines, as well as readers interested in the educational topics analyzed as a resource for mandatory consultation, both their own and their students, trainees or colleagues.
The book travels the world to develop the history of the circus and the events that led to the creation of circus schools in different Latin American countries, as well as the emergence of new disciplines, the aesthetic appreciation of gymnastic-acrobatic skills and the acceptance of the circus as a manifestation of artistic education by (inter)national federations or associations; guides the design of programs in circus education for elementary schools, social circus projects and models of circotherapy; provides recommendations for the accreditation of the quality of undergraduate and graduate programs in the field of contemporary circus arts. In addition, it proposes a methodology of circus education for a safe approach of children and youth to these disciplines of high or low risk, highlighting the commitment of the educator with the integral formation and the inclusion of users with special educational needs, as well as the transversality of the activities, exercises and techniques in the teaching.
