This book compiles articles written by professors who participated in an academic event about education held in 2011 at the Federal University of Grande Dourados. It aims at discussing Brazilian secondary education system focusing on its history and contemporary themes related to youth education. Its chapters present aspects of the history of secondary education in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul and in Brazil. The book deals with different discussions about secondary education and the way through which each subject of education has been contributing to the youth formation. It is an invitation for reflection and shows the concern about youth education in the Brazilian society.
