In addition to vastly researching historical records and gathering a variety of information, before historians can write down what they have collected, they need to select and organize their findings. In this book, because we are dealing with the history of art in Brazil, it was specially challenging to reconstruct the past in a non-static way, considering the artistic facts without inadequately attempting to portray the totality of the Brazilian artistic production.
