The Escazú Agreement is a treaty between states, a pact made from each state with their societies. It recognizes and presents three fundamental democratic rights: access to information, public participation an access to justice, and places equality in the centre of development, recognizing every person as a right holder and as a change agent for the advance towards development’s environmental sustainability. With the aim to guarantee, to the present and future generations, the rights to a healthy environment and to sustainable development, the Escazú Agreement is a palpable sign of our region commitment with a more equal, just and sustainable development.
