Is it possible to find a balance between ethics and public service? Is it possible that the decisions and actions of those working in the state are aimed at serving citizens and preventing corruption? Francisco Merino Amand’s publication discusses the proposal of a foundation for the ethics of public administration, an applied ethic that includes a set of guidelines on how those who exercise public functions should act within a democratic state. It also proposes overcoming the deficiencies of approaches that favor an economic-administrative approach or a legal approach in response to the aforementioned question. This book is addressed at officials or public servants who work in the public administration, as well as at researchers in practical philosophy, political sciences and citizens interested in getting to know the basics of ethics in the public service.
