This ethnographic exercise explores, describes, and surmises the voices of women in the Rodrigo de Bastidas Prison in Santa Marta, who, from their experience, reflect on the need to make and implement public policies for women committed to prison. Combining scientific rigor with real-time narratives, a shift is made in the creation of knowledge. These testimonies are a necessary contribution to the epistemic corpus to understand, from the inmates’ perspective, a social puzzle (prison and its re-socializing foundations) and the various ways in which society can be built by undertaking initiatives that aim at lasting, sustainable gender-based re-socialization.
