FOG OF WAR. CITIZENS FACING ORGANIZED CRIMINAL VIOLENCE
EN LA NIEBLA DE LA GUERRA. LOS CIUDADANOS ANTE LA VIOLENCIA CRIMINAL ORGANIZADA
This work offers the reader an accurate and clear study on the narcoviolence in Mexico. We are, according to the author, facing an economic civil war whose repercussions are terrifying: 95 thousand people murdered in the last fifteen years and more than 16 thousand unidentified bodies in mortuaries. Through statistical and political analysis of the country, Schedler shows us an x-ray of this problem.
“{This book} opens a window to the horror. Its goal is to feed our indignation and our imagination. It is addressed not only to students of this subject, the specialist, but to civil society, too”. —René David Jaimez Aguilar, El Colegio de México
“Andreas Schedler shakes us with this work.” —Óscar Boggeano Núñez, Frontera
“With an agile and transparent manner, but at the same time precise and incisive, this work contributes to dispel that dark and dense fog that surrounds the normalization of violence and citizen passivity towards it." —Alejandro Monsiváis Carillo, El Colegio de la Frontera Norte
“A fundamental book to clear our heads regarding the war shaking our country”. —José Woldenberg, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México
