Reflecting and commemorating Freire is an opportunity that the authors wish to propose as an experience of intergenerational gathering about the current meaning of critical and transformative pedagogical knowledge; an invitation to the confluence of the dialogical capacities of the new movements of popular and community education, as well as the educators who work daily to make possible an “other education” based on inclusion, respect for diversity and resistance to all kinds of discrimination. Freire made education the field of a cultural, pedagogical and political movement in which each and every person and community could say their “word”, understand the “world” and develop collective actions to democratize society, in the sense of the social distribution of power and knowledge. Freire was aware that educators are procreative, fertile subjects, and entrusted to them, until the end of their days on earth, the task of mobilizing and inventing words with power.
