This work approaches the situations of violence and inequality that are faced the journalists in Latin America, with special emphasis on México because this is the country where have been murdered the highest number of journalists in the last 22 years. The approach is directed to frontier journalists, those who work in the physicals, politics, economics, cultural and technological margins of one territory, and whose condition cannot be understood only as a reflection of what happens in national and international levels, because of the own characteristics and particularities that existing models fail to explain. Also, the book explore the historic and political context in which journalists have carried out their work, including democratic transitions and authoritarian regimes, and highlights the impact of the war on drugs on violence against them in Mexico. The author emphasizes the need to adopt new analytical frameworks to understand the situation of frontier journalists considering the margins of the State, the public sphere at the microlocal level and the capacity they have to face the crisis.
