Frontiers and Borders is an editorial project articulated in regard to artistic experiences linked to teaching, production, research and theoretical reflection. This publication has been conceived as a strategic place for critical and meaningful reflection on the frontier possibilities in and arising from contemporary art. The book deals with a collective cartography of art and its relationship with the nation-state, social relations of production, teaching-learning processes, the professionalization of the artist and exhibition circuits and art reception. This diversity of views, approaches, and proposals gather the texts into four chapters. This exercise in compilation and reordering necessitated consideration of two central aspects.
