The question about the present, needs to appeal to recent past to be answered, without concessions to the interest of forgetting. It is difficult to think about post-dictatorial Argentina without considering the cultural transformations that made the victim in to main character of our ways to understand and handle social violence. This book deals with ways in which we have become victims: from the expansion of collective action in demand of justice, the appearance of insecurity during democratic transitions and the hyperinflationary crisis, or the consolidation of punitive and police paradigms during the ‘90s, until the events “Blumberg” and “Cromañón”.
