The study of a dog’s cognition , learning and behaviour (canis familiaris) has created a growing interest in the last decades-. Especially, the dogs’ ability to interact with people, has drawn attention of researcher of other disciplines. The authors of this book suggest getting to know dogs from a scientific and amusing point of view, aiming at spreading the knowledge produced by these investigation lines. Empiric studies on domestic dogs are described in a clear way.
Can a dog understand us? Is the dog able to work together with us? Can a dog identify our mood and our emotions? How does a dog learn?
This and other questions are part of this work , which exposes us to the passion of science studying the cognition , learning and behaviour of an animal which has an increasing role in our society: the domestic dog.
