As a result of Brexit, the study and evaluation of regional integration agreements has intensified. To many analysts, this fact, together with renegotiation of NAFTA and the US withdrawal from the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), means we are now witnessing a decline in the integrationist process. This book, demonstrates the dynamic nature of regional integration and its importance to the economic and social development of the countries. Since Asia now leads the process in the global context, methods of cooperation between this continent, Latin America and Caribbean are explained, as well as programmatical guidelines for the diversification of the region’s foreign policy in a way that its participation in the new structure of the global system might improve. In times of uncertainty, alternatives are proposed to Latin American and Caribbean marginalisation in global governance.
